Jessica Ennis Calls for More Attention on Women's Sport

Jessica Ennis is one of five women on this year's shortlist for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.  After she was awarded this honor, she openly spoke about her hopes of having more attention focused on top-level women's sports.

The award faced some controversy last year when not one woman was included on the final list.  This year Ennis is among other women athletes who include Nicola Adams, Katherine Grainger, Ellie Simmonds and Sarah Storey.

Ennis spoke out to the Radio Times and stated "We need more coverage of women's sport and we need to get women involved in coaching and administration."

Ennis agrees that it can be overwhelming for women at first but they need to get over it. She recalls a memory when she was a girl, "I remember when I first started doing weight training, I didn't want to be any good because I didn't want to be all muscly."

Jessica listened to her Coach who helped her become an Olympic Gold Medalist. She does not regret her decision to listen to him.
